  1. Thomas Arnold says:

Will the Raptor grip fit a Mossberg 500 20ga?

  2. Ed says:

Freaking easy breezy lemon squeezy less than 1 hour! Fit beautifully on my Mossberg Maverick model 88 pump thank you

  3. Loren says:

Can I put the raptor grip on a standard Mossberg 500 or maverick 88 with an 18inch barrel and still be legal?

  4. Dan says:

I’m from new jersey, my 12 gauge mossberg 500 was purchased new with 26 in barrel and a standard wooden buttstock. Can I legally put a 14in barrel with a raptor lug? Do I have to register it with ATF? Does it still need to be over 26 inches overall?

    • marty says:

I’m going to ask our NJ readers to chime in, as I have no idea what the New Jersey laws are.

    • Stephen says:

Nope! That was born a Shotgun, It has to be born an Other firearm over 26″ like a Pistol Grip Only (PGO) Mossberg. That combination would require a stamp as a Short Barrel Shotgun. Once a shotgun, always a shotgun.

PGO firearms are not Shotguns. Kept over 26″ long they aren’t subject to the NFA.

I doubt NJ would let you get a stamp.

    • Jim says:

No!! Federal law says, If it originally had a stock, a 14″ barrel would make it a NFA item and a short barrel shotgun. Sorry. Pistol grip only

    • Possum says:

Best rememdy for that is to do what I did and leave New Jersey.

  5. Jeff says:

I am interested in building an sbs moss berg 500/590. I will be following all nfa laws and requirements to the letter. My question is, do you sell a kit that can convert my a non nfa mossberg 500/590 to a sbs configuration, and if so, what parts do I need? Again, I will be following all laws.

  6. chris says:

Can you use a Mossberg 54125 with the breacher end? Is there enough room to cut off the breacher end and still be at 14″?

    • marty says:

Hello Chris, Thank you for writing. The honest answer is that I don’t know. If someone else out there knows, could you let us both know? 🙂 Marty

  7. chris says:

Will the Mossberg 54125 model work? It’s the one with the breacher top on.

  8. Jeremy says:

Any plans on making these for a lever action. Either Century import or Chiappa?

  9. Jon says:

I recently purchase the raptor grip and 14″ front end kit for my mossy 500. Without spending money guessing, does anyone know what heat shield will fit this configuration?

  10. Tim Rice says:

Will this only work with Mossberg 500, or will it also work with Maverick 88- security shotgun?

  11. David says:

Thanks to you, I’ve got myself a nice short barreled something! Quick question:

The spring for the 14″ front end kit has one end that is green. Does it matter which way I put the spring in the mag tube?

  12. James Buckner says:

How can I find out if my gun was PGO gun when it was made?

    • marty says:

If you don’t have the original packaging, etc., you call email Mossberg customer service and ask them to send you a report of the configuration the firearms left the factory in.

  13. Paul says:

After the raptor grip, and the front end conversion, how much does the Mossberg weigh? How many shells does the new front end hold?

  14. Hello I wanted to know if the mossberg 14″kit will fit a Remington 870??

  15. Terry says:

    Will raptor work on moss.500 e 4/10. ?

  16. David says:

    Hi Marty,

Thanks for all the info, it’s been real helpful.

I’m ready to order a PGO Mossberg (Model 54125), and I’m wondering, how do I make sure it is put down as an “Other Firearm” on the Form 4473 my FFL is going to have me fill out?

You see, I don’t want to order the gun and have the FFL tell me it’s a shotgun.

  17. Jim Gifford says:

Will the Raptor grip fit on the Model 510 20 gauge mini super bantam?

  18. Twitchyfinger says:

I notice you are sold out on your front end barrel kits. Will you be getting any more in stock in the near future?

    • marty says:

      Hello Twitchy,

Thank you for writing. Be sure to see a doctor about that twitch. Sounds annoying. 😉 We are currently sold out. We are awaiting a new shipment from Mossberg. Difficult to pin them down on a delivery date, however. Stay tuned.

Thank you for writing and Merry Christmas,

  19. Hieu says:

Pretty excited, I ordered your raptor grip from your ebay store and called mossberg in eagle pass cause you guys were out of stock. Everything is on the way and can’t wait to post pictures! (I bought the 14″ front end kit and raptor grip cause I’m a motorcycle security officer and will insert in my breecher’s scabbarb and ordered a HK GG&G rear swivel mount with uncle mike’s front swivel mount.) I’ll send you a picture Marty. Thanks!

  20. Hieu says:

I’m ready to purchase the raptor shockwave grip and front end kit, how long will I have to wait before it is available to purchase?

  21. Garret Honea says:

    Quick Question,

To meet legal requirements by adding the 14in barrel and raptor grip. Does my shotgun have to purchased as a “pistol” or “other?” And if it is supposed to be purchased as “other” how is this to be done?

Sorry for asking a question that millions have most likely asked.

  22. Hieu says:

Instead of drilling a Hole for a sling stud do you either/or recommend/sell a rear sling mount?

    • marty says:

Yes, you can use a sling mount plate, such as the ones that GG&G sells. Take the lock-washer out of the equation, so you have maximum thread engagement in the comparatively thin aluminum Mossberg receiver. Use some blue thread-locking compound, such as Loc-Tite instead.

      Thank you again,

  23. hieu says:

Is there anyway to attach a sling to the raptor grip?

    • marty says:

Yes, just pick a location, drill a 1/8″ pilot hole and thread in a wood-screw-thread-type sling swivel stud. Then attach a swivel and your sling. 🙂

      Thank you for writing,

  24. Justin says:

I’m planning to buy the Raptor for my Maverick 88 as I see from reading the comments it’s works with that model, what I’m unsure of is what else I need because comparing the maverick I have with what’s in the picture ya’ll have up the barrel in the picture is significantly shorter. Do I need a different barrel? If so what do you recommend and what other products would you guys recommend so I can upgrade it to look more like what’s up top?
