Can you tell me the OAL of the Shockwave Blade & the Blade 2.0? I have 2 pistols that I am trying to stay under 26″ on & want to make sure I will be ok before ordering.

Hi Team Shockwave,
Please post the letter from the ATF that states the Shockwave and Shockwave 2 braces are legal to shoulder. Many thanks!

Hi Justan,

They did not provide each brace manufacturer with a letter. There is a generic letter addressing braces in general.

Thanks,
Team Shockwave

Hi, I’ve purchased an AR pistol from a 3rd party that came with a Shockwave blade stabilizer, and an accessory for side folding the stabilizer (says “Law Tactical” on it). The problem is the buffer tube is about 1/4″ or so too short – so the bolt doesn’t travel backwards far enough to catch the hold open latch, (or empty magazine, etc). Is this an easy fix? Is there a shorter spring/weight that I can install?

I just purchased an AR 15 with the Blade Pistol Stabilizer. Is there any way to attach a shoulder pad to the unit?

Hi Mickey,

We do not advise you change the Blade in any way.

Thanks,

Team Shockwave

So a Sig Sauer pm400 model with the ugly Sig stabilizing brace, I want to swap the brace out for one of your sharp looking braces,am I better off buying the full package? Brace, buffer tube, spring ? Thank you

Hi John,

It all depends on what you currently already have that is compatible. You will probably want/need a tube and the blade.

Thanks,

Team Shockwave

Do not add a strap to the Blade. It was approved WITHOUT a strap and therefore if you put one on it that is changing the brace.

Thanks,
Team Shockwave

Of course! Give us a call to place your order with the discount 727-877-8277.

Hi.
I have 2 of your Shockwave stabilizing braces with the KAK tubes installed on my 2 AR-15 pistols and am very happy with them.
Can you please provide a link (I’ve looked on the ATF website) to the General Letter from ATF stating that shouldering the brace (without modification) is permitted without any legal consequences as I’d like to keep a copy of the letter with each pistol to be able to show it if ever the need should arise.

Thank you,
Richie

Hi Richie,

Just google “ATF shoulder brace letter”. and you will find it.

Hello bought a ak47 with a shockwave brace but its getting loze and cant the buffer tube off is there a tool I can use to get it off to tighen the mount on the ak?

Hi Patrick,

Is the buffer tube loose or the brace? If it is the tube, I would use an AR wrench.

Thanks,
Team Shockwave

Everything I find says it’s within regulations, but have you had any experience with issues whether legal or technical with this on a Tac-14?

Hi Mark,

Which folding stock adapter? All you need is an AR tube adapter and our tubes will work.

Thanks,
Team Shockwave

Just wanted to clear confusion. I have an AR pistol that has the Blade attatched and I’m a little confused where this brace falls into place. I know pistol braces typically have a strap on it but this one does not. Is it still legal to use as a brace as a pistol without the strap and not be qualified as an SBR or do I need to put a strap on it? I just don’t want any legal troubles.

Hi Gray,

Our stabilizer was approved WITHOUT a strap. We do not recommend adding or changing anything on the Blade.

Thank you,
Team Shockwave

I just purchased this brace. it has 3 slots in it. What can be done with those slots? If you can’t put a strap in it, then what are they good for? If one wanted to mount a QD socket, is that not allowed either?

Thank you,
John

Hi John,

Those slots are for a sling. We do have the Blade Classic and Blade Stealth that have a QD socket already if you want to exchange for one of those versions.

Thanks,
Team Shockwave

I have heard about possible changes to legal uses of fin style braces. That it may become an automatic felony if the straps that stabilise the brace to the arm are removed. Are there any straps suggested for this brace? If so where can I get them.

Strap or no strap–the whole ATF Pistol Brace Bingo card is meaningless anyway. You know, the whole “The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives reserves the right to preclude classification as a pistol with a “stabilizing braces” for any firearm that achieves an apparent qualifying score but is an attempt to make a “short-barreled rifle” and circumvent the GCA or NFA”

We encourage you to submit a comment to stop this: https://shockwavetechnologies.com/submit-a-comment-to-atf-to-protect-pistol-stabilizing-braces/

So Shockwave Industries is saying that someone using their stabilizing brace can disregard the new regulations proposed by the BATFE? If so I’ll buy 5.

Hi Fredrich,

As of today, the proposal from last year has not been made into a rule. We can only speak on current standards.

Thanks,

Team Shockwave

can I install this brace on my palmetto sate armory ar-15 pistol the way it comes or am I going to need other parts in order to instal this specific shockwave brace on to it?

Depending on what tube you have installed. This goes on a standard AR pistol buffer tube.

This stabilizer sets in with a set screw. We have three other versions, Blade 2M, Blade Stealth and Blade classic that are adjustable.

Thanks,

Team Shockwave

I received the 2mm brace and there’s a screw on it but no nut or whatever. I assume it’s for, well, screwing the brace to the buffer tube but how? Is there a nut missing or what?

Hi Randy,

You have the Blade pistol stablizer, not the Blade 2M. The set screw is to tighten and hold the Blade on the pistol buffer tube.

Thanks,

Team Shockwave

As of today 05/26/2022, this brace does not require a tax stamp or anything of that nature? The guy at Bass Pro Shop claims otherwise, saying I need to apply for a form 1 still. I read the attached ATF approved letter dated in 2014.

I have this brace on an AR15 and because of some people who did something I need to remove it. However I can’t find any way to do so.
When I pull the adjustment spring all the way down I still can’t slide it off the tube. Any suggestions?

Hi JB,

Be sure to pull the adjustment spring all the way down.

Thanks,

Team Shockwave

As of today 11/10/2023 there is a nationwide injuction in place to prevent any enforcement of the new rule.

We do on non-sale items. Please include your information in the notes of the order and we will refund you the difference.

Thanks,

Hi I purchased an AR15 .223 kit from you guys years ago. Looking to convert to 300 blackout for alternative deer season and need this butt stock. Do I need the blade tube kit or just the stabilizer? Thanks!

Hi Steve,

Depending on what kind of tube you have on your firearm will determine what kind of Blade stabilizer will fit.

Pistol buffer tube would be Blade
Mil-spec buffer tube would be Blade 2M, Blade Stealth or Blade Classic.

Thanks,

Team Shockwave

All depends on what tube you have. The Blade fits a pistol buffer tube and the Blade 2M, Blade Stealth and Blade Classic fit a milspec buffer tube.

Thanks,

Team Shockwave

It all depends on what kind of buffer tube you have. The Blade goes on a pistol buffer tube where as the Blade 2M, Blade Stealth and Blade Classic fit on a milspec buffer tube.

Thanks,

Team Shockwave
