Description

Raptor Grip 500/590

The Shockwave Technologies Raptor Grip is MADE IN AMERICA. With its enhanced texture, you gain a great hold on your firearm. Its glass-filled polymer construction is virtually indestructible.

This is a new style of bird’s head grip (aka birdshead grip, aka witness protection grip, aka chicken head grip, aka border patrol grip, aka entry-style grip, aka bad ass grip) developed and manufactured by Shockwave Technologies, LLC in the U.S.A.

The Raptor Grip is molded of a super-tough glass-filled polymer and fits:

  • Mossberg 500 12-gauge firearms (aka 500A)
  • Mossberg 500 20-gauge firearms (aka 500C)
  • Mossberg 590 and 590A1 firearms (12-gauge)
  • Mossberg 510 Mini firearms (12- and 20-gauges)
  • Mossberg 835 firearms (12- and 20-gauges)
  • Mossberg 535 firearms (12- and 20-gauges)
  • Mossberg 600 (New Haven) firearms (12- and 20-gauges)
  • Maverick 88 (12- and 20-gauges)
  • Coast to Coast model CC 660 Master Mag (12- and 20-gauges)
  • Mossberg 590A1 and 500 Compact Cruiser AOW

Unique angle of the Raptor Grip minimizes felt recoil, allowing maximum control shot after shot. It also just looks badass. Yes, mounting hardware and bolt hole plug are included. (Requires a 1/4″ hex wrench for installation, not included.) Order yours today!

Firearm shown is not included, however.

*Note that a pistol-grip-only Mossberg/Maverick 12-gauge with a 14″ barrel and the Raptor Grip installed measures 26.5″ in overall length (measured parallel to the bore). The grip itself adds 5.25″ to the length of the weapon (measured parallel to the bore). Of course, the Raptor Grip also fits 12-gauges and 20-gauges with 18.5″, 20″, and longer barrels.

**Note that there is no predefined hole for a sling swivel stud on the Raptor Grip. This allows you to put your sling swivel wherever you want it on the grip–not just where we think it should go. Be sure to drill a 1/8″ pilot hole.

I’ve seen pics of the Mossberg Shockwave weapon with a rear sling base already attached to the birds head grip. Makes me think that you can get the weapon with a rear sling base already on it. Is this a Mossberg factory option?

Hello William,

Yes, it appears that Mossberg is installing sling swivel studs at the factory.

Thank you for writing,
Marty

I have the Mossberg 590Shockwave and this grip is the bomb (the kids tell me this is a good thing).
I would really love to see these in the other colors, Dark earth, OD and Sniper gray.

I would like to know if your Company makes a raptor shockwave grip (with rear sling swivel stud) for the Mossberg500 E Series model #50455 .410 Cruiser ?

Looking forward to seeing Shockwave furniture in some color of brown to match or contrast my FDE Mossberg Shockwave.

I have a model 88 maverick Mossberg… your write-up reads that your raptor grip will fit on the Maverick 88, as it usually will accept anything that the Mossberg 500 will.
am I understanding that correctly? Do you have this in stock ready to ship? Advertised price still applicable?

Yes, it will fit a Maverick 88. We have plenty in stock and ready to ship.

Thanks,
Team Shockwave

I have just ordered a moss erg shockwave and I am anxiously awaiting it’s arrival at my local ffl dealer.
Have been watching videos that say a grip tape is needed because the raptor handle allows the hand to slide because of recoil.
I have been looking for a raptor handle made out of a hard rubber. Any future plans to make one?

When will the grip in FDE be back in stock? I was told end of the month of April but I was hoping for a more specific date

Hi.

They are being made now and should be up and listed next week. 🙂

Thank you,

Team Shockwave

Do you offer or know of a supplier who offers the wooden raptor grip that comes on the night stick model of the shockwave

If I were to use a Dremel tool to contour the grip down a bit and add some finger grooves, would that compromise overall integrity?

Hi Tom,

It is solid and a lot of people stipple them so I don’t think that will be a problem.

Thanks,

Team Shockwave

I was wondering if your company had thought about making the shockwave forends and grip for a mossberg 590 in wood?

I have the 7 shot CA approved Shockwave and would like to have a Nightstick but it is not offered in the CA approved size. Is there any way you could help us Californians out by selling us the Nightstick fore end and raptor grip to install on the Shockwave. It would be greatly appreciated by tour loyal fans out here.

Hi Daniel,

We don’t make the nightstick forend. Sorry. But you can get our new forend that is coming out soon along with our raptor grip.

Thanks,
Team Shockwave

Hi, I would appreciate if you could let me know if shockwave raptor grip can be installed on Maverick 31023. Thank you in advance..

I own a Mossberg Flex firearm, so I will repeat add to the previous requests for a Flex version of your fantastic Raptor grip.

Considering that the BATFE is constantly rethinking how they measure OAL when it concerns braces and folding adapters (imagine that), the other companies who make AR grip and tube adapters could be causing the OAL to dip below the 26″, since the AR receiver tube wouldn’t be counted in OAL anymore. The solution is a grip that is one piece (like your well-designed Raptor-Grip) that has the mounting plate for the AR tube or folding adapter far enough aft that when it is discounted in OAL measurement, the OAL is still over 26″. Basically, there needs to be a Raptor-Grip with a flat “duckbutt” to mount either a folding adapter, a vertical picatinny rail, or a female AR socket, so we can legally add a brace, yet still enjoy the superior ergonomics of the Raptor-Grip. Any plans for such an evolution?
