Remington makes what many consider to be the de facto standard for pump shotguns. But there’s always room for a bit of improvement, wouldn’t you say?

Will the Mossberg 500 raptor grip fit a Remington 870 or do i need the other grip

  2. Duffuser says:

Just an FYI for everyone asking, Mesa Tactical makes an adapter that will allow 12 gauge 870 stocks and grips to fit 20 gauge models. Should allow you to use the Shockwave grip on your 20 gauge 870.

  3. DM says:

Will this fit on the Dominion Arms Grizzly?

  4. Jason says:

Any update on a model for the 20ga 870?
Would order one tonight if you made one.

Hi Marty : I Just Bought a Hatsan/Escort Aimguard 12 Ga. Pump. I’d Like to Put a Raptor or Standard Pistol Grip on it, Do You Have a Grip I Can Get For it, or One That Can Be Modified ? I Saw a Rem. Mod. 870 Grip Addapted to Fit…But I Would Rather Buy One Made to Fit if I Can…..Any Ideas Here ?…..Thanks

  6. James S. Prine, NOPD says:

Hello! I bought a Raptor grip for my NEA Protector Pump 12-gauge via Amazon. I made sure I bought the Remington 870 version. When it arrived, I checked the shipping bag to make sure I had the 870 version, and it was. When I attempted to install the Raptor grip, it did not fit. I finally got a magnifying glass and discovered the marking “M500” on the rear, which I presume means it was made for the Mossberg 500 and not a Remington 870. I will now purchase another Raptor grip directly from you; please make certain that the one you ship is for the 870. Thanks! – James

    • marty says:

My apologies. It would appear that somehow the wrong grip ended up in the bag. Please feel free to email or call. We will ship you the correct grip right away.

  7. Jeff says:

do you have a raptor grip that fits j.c. higgins model 20 12 gauge

  8. James Thomas says:

I have two questions about the Raptor grip. First question is do you know if it will fit or adapt to a Stevens 320? Second question is are there any plans to produce these grips in wood?

  9. Dylan says:

I shouldve been more specific. Will it fit the Remington 887 Nitro Mag?

  10. Dylan says:

Is the grip available for the Rem 887? It is NOT a semi auto

    • marty says:

      Hello Dylan,

I believe I’ve looked into this before and it didn’t look like the Raptor Grip R870 would fit the 887 guns.

      Thank you for writing,

  11. TBennett says:

Can I do the non-nfa setup with the 870? If so, what parts would be required besides the barrel? I would like to do the M500, but I understand that Mossberg has stopped selling the parts needed to make the switch.

  12. Rick Donini says:

I have a raptor grip on my 870. I am considering the installation of the BB&B side swivel sling mounts (GGG1399) which are placed between the grip and the shotgun. Will the screw provided with the raptor grip allow this or will I need to get a longer screw (and if so could you suggest a source?).

    • marty says:

      Hi Rick,

Yes, the GG&G mounts work perfectly with the Raptor Grips. The bolts are long enough, as well.

      Thank you for writing,

  13. Damien says:

Will there be a raptor grip for an 870 20 gauge in the future? I would really love to have one. Thanks

    • marty says:

      Hello Damien,

Thank you for writing. It’s in the pipeline, as they say, but it could be 18 months before it’s available.

      Thank you again,

  15. jim says:

Hello, do you sell the Raptor for an 870 20 gauge ?

  16. Kenny says:

hey marty, I bought a raptor grip and forend for my Mossberg 500 last year, and I would like to do the same this year, but on a chinese clone of a R870. will Remington 870 parts fit on a Norinco clone? thanks

    • marty says:

      Hi Kenny,

Thank you for writing. The Raptor Grip R870 should fit the Norinco clone. I’m not 100% sure what bolt thread they use on those. You might have to source a metric bolt. And if it doesn’t fit, you are welcome to return the grip for a refund.

      Thank you again,

  17. don stanley says:

hey guys, would it be legal to cut my barrel to 14″and add the raptor grip? thanks, don

  18. Ernest says:

The Remington 81191 870 comes with a magazine extension on it. When replacing it for a basic magazine tube cap, would I also need to buy a shorter magazine spring?

  19. Guy with Questions says:

The Mossberg 500 has a decently long list of parts that are required to complete the conversation. I’m not seeing any list here, which leads me to believe I need to following in order to complete the Non-NFA 14″ Remington 870 PGO:

    1. Remington 870 PGO (Model number 81191, 81187, 24823, or 25539)
    2. 14″ Barrel (Model numbers F246827, F242241, F247801, F201694)
    3. Raptor Grip

Also, any other model numbers for the 870 or the 14″ barrel that you know of? I collected all that I could find through googling.

I’m still trying to figure out what the ‘Tactical Forearm Strap Kit’ is for?

  23. sonnyroofy says:

Just ordered mine, practical > tactical!

  24. Mike says:

Can you point me in the right direction to find a 14″ barrel, and matching length mag tub for my 870? Or, do you guys have all those parts? I’d really like to get my gun built sooner than later, because I work on the road and I don’t get much time at home. Thank you.

    • marty says:

I would call Remington customer service directly. I know that that’s how I found the parts for my first Mossy build–I called Mossberg customer service. Let us know what you find out.

      Thank you,

  25. Matt says:

Any news? I’ve been looking for something like this with better fit than the Speedfeed.

    • marty says:

I know. I am sorry. The mold maker had some family issues a while back. And since then, he’s really been dragging his feet getting me the mold. I’m with you. Believe me. I want a Raptor Grip for my 870 as well!

  30. Bill says:

For guys that are interested, the current model number of the PGO 870 is 81191, I just bought 2 of them anticipating the 870 Raptor grip release. There is another model number that may be found, model 81187 was a special run made specifically for a single distributor during a time when the 81191 was out of production, you may still find some of those out there as well.

    • marty says:

Thanks for the updated info, Bill. 🙂

      • Bill says:

No sweat Marty! Any updates on the 870 grip?

        • marty says:

The mold maker has been taking his sweet time getting the mold to me. I don’t know what the holdup is at the moment. After I run T-1 shots, I still need to get the mold textured, too. This is spilling into July. I am sorry. I can only push the mold maker so hard. Stay tuned.

  31. Moarizumoshitoku says:

Email me please, when this is ready. I could also test the prototype! :o)

  32. LoneScout says:

I’m real excited that you’re working on a Rem 870 Raptor!

Now, I just need to figure out where to find a 14″ front end for one.
