The Shockwave Technologies Raptor Grip is MADE IN AMERICA. With its enhanced texture, you gain a great hold on your firearm. And its glass-filled polymer construction is virtually indestructible.

This is a new style of bird’s head grip (aka birdshead grip aka witness protection grip aka chicken head grip aka border patrol grip aka entry-style grip aka bad ass grip) developed and manufactured by Shockwave Technologies, LLC in the U.S.A.

The Raptor Grip is molded of a super-tough glass-filled polymer and fits:

  • Mossberg 500 12-gauge firearms (aka 500A)
  • Mossberg 500 20-gauge firearms (aka 500C)
  • Mossberg 590 and 590A1 firearms (12-gauge)
  • Mossberg 510 Mini firearms (12- and 20-gauges)
  • Mossberg 835 firearms (12- and 20-gauges)
  • Mossberg 535 firearms (12- and 20-gauges)
  • Mossberg 600 (New Haven) firearms (12- and 20-gauges)
  • Maverick 88 (12- and 20-gauges)
  • Coast to Coast model CC 660 Master Mag (12- and 20-gauges)

Unique angle of the Raptor Grip minimizes felt recoil, allowing maximum control shot after shot. It also just looks badass. Order yours today. Yes, mounting hardware and bolt hole plug are included. (Requires a 1/4″ hex wrench for installation.)

Firearm shown is not included, however. 😉

Note that a pistol-grip-only Mossberg/Maverick 12-gauge with a 14″ barrel and the Raptor Grip installed measures 26.5″ in overall length (measured parallel to the bore). Learn more here. The grip itself adds 5.25″ to the length of the weapon (measured parallel to the bore).

Of course, the Raptor Grip also fits 12-gauges and 20-gauges with 18.5″, 20″, and longer barrels. 😉

Note that there is no predefined hole for a sling swivel stud on the Raptor Grip. This allows you to put your sling swivel wherever you want it on the grip–not just where we think it should go. Be sure to drill a 1/8″ pilot hole.

Shipping is a reasonable $4.00.

Didn’t see a place to write a review, so I thought I’d drop it here. The product is good enough to merit it. This grip is as excellent a replacement for the mossberg original as I could imagine. The angle significantly reduces recoil by directing it back into the arm instead of snapping the wrist. Additionally, it stays out of the way of the slide release, allowing for easy manipulation, an issue with the factory pistol grip. The raptor grip itself is extremely tough, taking several hard impacts with no issues or visible marks. The material while hard, is also grippy enough to easily maintain hold under heavy recoil (3″ slugs). Finally, it is entirely capable of reasonable accuracy at closer ranges. I could hit silhouettes reliably out to 20 meters. If you’re looking for a superior pistol grip, this is it. Highly recommended.

Hi. Getting ready to purchase both grip and the lug kit. My question is I used to have previously an 870 with a knoxx breachers and that pistol grip with the spring inside greatly reduced recoil. So I’m kinda not sold on the raptor grip with reducing felt recoil. Any way u convince before I purchase? Btw this would be for a mossy 500 cruiser

    • marty says:

The Raptor Grip works great. Try it. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised how much it reduces felt recoil.

    • Card says:

I have both; I greatly prefer the raptor grip sold here. The recoil reduction is accomplished via a much better design. Both are better than the stock Mossberg pistol grip.

  3. Paul says:

Do you provide information or letter from the ATF?

  4. Reddogg says:

Right on Marty I,ll be getting on this right quick I,ll let Ya know what I find out on the finish end
    Thanks

Hey there Marty, I’m super interested in your product and I was hoping you could answer a quick question regarding the 26 inch regulation. I’m looking to purchase your raptor grip to modify a 500SP (18.5 inch barrel, OAL 39.5) and I was trying to figure out the minimum size I could modify my barrel along with the raptor grip to be within federal regulation. I can’t seem to find the specific fixed stock size on the shotgun’s seller page itself, so I’m a bit confused on whether or not the shotgun would be within regulation with a 14 inch barrel mod and the raptor grip installed

Thanks for anytime you can take to help me out!

  6. Reddogg says:

Hey there Marty I,m doing a build with this Grip and am wondering if it,s possible to do a little molding (sanding) on this Grip to get a perfect fit around the receiver end of it. If I sand it can I paint it or is there a way to bring the black out to like Factory doing some chemical or oil rub on it
    Thanks
    DOGG!!!

    • marty says:

Sure, you can sand the Raptor Grip. It is solid. But you would most likely want to finish it with some sort of texturized paint afterwards, I believe.

  7. wRecKaGe says:

If you guys will offer the Raptor grip for the PGO 14″ Mossberg firearms with an over molded grip made from the material used in the Scorpion Recoil Pads from AGP, I would be a buyer. That stuff attenuates recoil like nothing else, even in a fairly thin layer.

  8. Samuel meeker says:

Would it be legal to put the Raptor group on a regular shotgun that originally came with stock on it or does it have to be a PGO

    • marty says:

You can certainly put a Raptor Grip on any shotgun. It only needs to be a PGO if you are building a non-NFA 12-gauge firearm with a 14″ barrel.

  9. Jason says:

Is it possible to use the plug from the Remington 870 Raptor Grip in the grip for the Mossberg 500? If so, what would you charge to ship to Texas? I *really* want this grip for a Mossberg but want a plug for it.

  10. John Beattie says:

I have a revelation 310c. Will it fit?

  11. Paul says:

    Will the grip fit cruiser/persuader.500

  12. Paul M. says:

I have a standard Cruiser pistol grip on the wife’s M500. Will this Raptor improve recoil over the cruiser grip?

  13. Steve says:

Is there a grip available, or plans to produce any for the Saige 410 shotgun?
    Thanks

  14. Ed says:

Will your Raptor grip fit my Mossberg 500 Mariner JIC? Thanks

  15. B.N. says:

Does the 500 Series grip fit the Maverick 88 20 Gauge?

I understand that most 500C components fit a Mossberg 88 20 Gauge, but it is not specifically listed.

  16. bobby says:

Can this be drilled for a sling?

    • marty says:

Yes. Just drill a 1/8″ pilot hole. Thread in a wood-screw-thread-type sling swivel stud. And you’re off to the races. 🙂

      • Kenny says:

Recently purchased the Raptor Grip for my AOW Shorty Shotgun and it’s GREAT!!!!

Regarding wood-screw-thread sling swivel install; can it be installed on the left side of the grip? If not, is there a preferred location to install the swivel?

        Thanks, Kenny

  17. Eric says:

these pistol grips look awesome and I have considered about investing in one of these.. or maybe someone would consider sending me an old you one that no one wants anymore…I’m not above asking… Thank you from retired Navy sailor…lol

  18. George says:

    Hello;

Is there any possibility of adapting this grip to fit a Winchester 1200 shotgun? It looks like a shortened stock attachment bolt would make the adaptation possible, but I thought I would ask your opinion first.

  19. Rico says:

    Hi Marty …

Do you (or anyone else out there) know if the Raptor Grip will fit an old Mossberg Howa 3000?

    Thanks for your help.

  20. Hryan says:

Hi Marty. Any update on a 500 Flex adaptor for the Raptor?

    • marty says:

      Hello Hryan,

Currently, Mossberg is being very difficult to work with. I don’t see a Flex version of the Raptor Grip happening.

      Thank you for writing in,
      Marty

      • Paris Shelton says:

Just want to give a +1 on a Raptor grip that works with the flex system. I am sure the cost would be more, but I’d be willing to pay.

  21. David says:

Will this fit the Maverick hs-12 Thunder Ranch?

  22. Robb Kaczor says:

I ordered this on the 14th of may and received it on the 18th put it on my 500 today and what a difference in how the gun feels. I am looking forward to shooting it this weekend. The for the quick shipping and great product it is exactly what I wanted

  23. Pat says:

Is there any way to use this grip with a recoil buffer tube?

  24. Tony says:

Just received my raptor grip and for end strap for my 500..Great price, great quality, came very quickly, went on as easy as could be, and looks killer. I too wish there was a plug, perhaps I can figure something out to cover the bolt end. Haven’t shot it yet, but can’t wait. If considering purchasing, I say go for it! Thanks!

    • Tony says:

EDIT** Spent 15 min in the garage with a synthetic wine cork, bench grinder, file, and flat black spray paint. Plug has been made. Try it out..

  25. Trey says:

Does the mossberg grip come with a plug like the one in the pic of the 870?

  26. DaleC says:

Will fit the Mossy 500 in .410?
Needing a behind the seat shotty for a farm truck.

  27. norm says:

Will it fit on a savage arms 320 or do you make one that does? I really like that style of grip

  28. John says:

Will the Raptor Grip work with sling attachments such as the GG&G for Mossberg 500? Any recommendations for an attachment between the grip and the receiver?

    • marty says:

      Hi John,

Yes, the GG&G works perfectly. We are actually going to start selling the GG&G sling plates with our grips as a package soon.

      Thank you for writing,
      Marty

      • Joshua says:

Marty, would you consider creating a Raptor variant with a notch pre-cut for and packaged with Magpul’s SGA sling mounts (MAG507 & MAG492)? I have been interested in GG&G’s sling plates as well, but I would really prefer not to add the extra length to my grip, so to me the Magpul mount seems like it would be the perfect solution.

Anyway, I’m waiting on my new gun to arrive, but my Raptor came a few days ago, and I must say that I am impressed with its heft. Looking forward to using it. 🙂

        • marty says:

          Hi Joshua,

Thank you for writing. We will look into it. It’s doubtful that we could justify a new $20,000 mold for a single Magpul accessory. But it might be something we could machine the existing Raptor Grip M500 to accept.

          Thank you again,
          Marty

  29. Mark says:

Any plan to make one to fit the Stoeger side by side?

  30. Dennis says:

Received my Raptor Grip a few days ago and I love it! Pair it with an 18.5 inch barrel and you have a badass home defense scattergun!

  31. Tom says:

Came quickly. It is worth the very reasonable price. Fits like a factory part. I wish it had a plug to cover the bolt. It is a bit more smooth than I thought it might be. But no complaint. A great product for a very fair price!

  32. Ralph says:

Does the raptor grip have a stud for a sling?

  33. Jeff says:

I have 500B. 16 gauge. Will this work?

    • marty says:

I honestly don’t know for sure. I would think so, as the Raptor Grip works on the 12 as well as the 20 gauge. Let me know if you give it a try.

      Thank you,
      Marty

      • Jeff says:

I never received notification that you responded. I just happened to stumble on this.

Thank you for the response. It has given me the confidence to make the purchase.

        Jeff

  34. lorenzo henderson says:

Will the handle grip fit a Steven 320?

  35. Jan says:

Will the Raptor Grip fit a Serbu Super Shorty? I understand the Shorty is based on the Maverick 88 and the Mossberg 500, so it should fit just fine, right?

    • marty says:

      Hi Jan,

Yes, the Raptor Grip M500 fits the Serbu Super Shorty guns that are based on the Mossberg and Maverick receivers.

      Thank you,
      Marty

  36. Tom Dale says:

Any chance you will be making a flex version of the Raptor grip?

  37. Rabbi D. R. Jerkins says:

Due to a recent injury, I can no longer raise my right hand with any measure of control. I can still pull a trigger, though.
This grip allows me to still use my old Mossberg right handed while controlling the gun with my left; something that was impossible with the angle of a regular pistol grip.
I got one at a gun show, will order another directly from you as soon as I decide which shot gun to keep, and which to get rid of.
    Thank you.
    Rabbi

  38. Tom says:

Just ordered a second grip for my old Mossberg. I really like this grip
it is so much better than the factory grip!

    • marty says:

Thank you for the kind words. Mossberg should wake up and smell the roses in my opinion. We are currently working with Remington to supply our Raptor Grip for their factory PGO guns. 🙂

  39. Aamir Diwan says:

    Hello,

Can you send Raptor Grip to United Kingdom..? If yes then what would be shipping cost and mode of payment.

    Thanx.

  40. Jack says:

This grip is incredible! Way better than my original Mossberg pistol grip! Seriously night and day. So much less recoil is felt. Looks cool too. Great product, shipped fast, highly recommended.

  41. Joshua Dasher says:

Just arrived for my 500 Today. This thing is amazing. Great people to deal with here.
